2002 - UK Eyecare Practice of the year

Joanne Pendlebury has served in the practice since it’s original opening in 1997, and knows the Cookstown people well. Born in Cookstown, Joanne moved to England where she graduated from Aston University with BSc Hons in Optometry in 1992 and became a member of the British College of Optometrists in 1993 after obtaining professional qualifying certificates.
Having worked for several years in Boots Opticians and Vision Express, Joanne returned to Cookstown with experience of large multi-national companies. Preferring the more personal approach, she began working for a small independent practice “McGovern Opticians” in Cookstown in 1997 and later took ownership in 2012, re-opened under the name Pendlebury Eyecare Opticians. She is both owner and resident full time optician.
